Scott has an undergraduate degree from Rice University and a master’s degree in education from the University of Hawaii. He has professional lifetime certification as a K-12 principal from the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI). Prior to serving at the Academy, Scott was involved in education, business, music, and youth ministry. He served as a Christian educator at churches in Illinois, Texas, and Florida, and owned/operated two cafes in Old Naples. Scott was one of eight community leaders to be recognized as a Collier County Man of Distinction in 2004 by n magazine and the Education Foundation of Collier County. His greatest joy at Naples Christian Academy has been the opportunity to support a stellar team of educators with a vision for excellence in Christian education. He recently served as an elder and chairman of the board at Center Point Community Church. Scott and his wife have two boys who were both students at the Academy. Scott was recently named director of Black Forest Academy, an international Christian school in Germany, to which he and his family will move In the fall. In his spare time, he enjoys travel, listening to music, playing the piano, eating good food, wrestling with his boys, reading the Wall Street Journal, and hiking in the Adirondack Mountains.
Sue Nite, Chair of the Naples Christian Academy board, is Director of Christian Education at Center Point Community Church. She has taught in public and private schools and her sons Micah and Noah attended NCA. Micah is a graduate of Vanderbilt University and the University of Miami Medical School, and is currently a physician in New York City. Noah graduated from the University of Miami in 2006, studied overseas, and is currently attending the University of Miami School of Law. Her youngest son, Don, is a graduate of the Community School of Naples and Gordon College. Sue’s husband, Jim, is the pastor of Center Point Community Church.
Michael Ruganis, treasurer of the Naples Christian Academy board, is currently Chief Pilot for Naples Flight Management, LLC, a flight management company for a family corporation in Naples. He has been with this company for 25 years and flies a Gulfstream G100 to locations all across the U.S. Mike is a graduate of Embry Riddle Aeronautical University. He also owns a computer consulting business, J&M Micro, Inc. started in 1990. He has volunteered a great deal of time in supporting and maintaining computer network and hardware systems at NCA for the past nine years. Mike is a past secretary and treasurer of Center Point Community Church, served on the church board for nine years, has been a Sunday School teacher, and has been involved in church information technology projects and its drama programs. Mike has been a Christian since his early teens and he and his wife Terry have three adult children and several grandchildren, two of which attend the Academy.
